We are located on Manhattan's Upper West Side which is both an exciting and family friendly, safe neighborhood. We are conveniently located between sights such as the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Lincoln Center. We are in a high rise, 24 hour doorman building.

We have a 3 bedrooms, 1 bath apartment with a nicely furnished balcony overlooking Central Park and northern Manhattan. There is no-smoking in the apartment but is OK to smoke on the terrace. Bedroom 1 has a down filled, queen sized mattress and a view of Central Park. Bedroom 2 has a queen futon bed with a small flat screen TV. It is our son's bedroom and great for kids.
Bedroom 3 is the largest bedroom but set up for our twin girls, age 3 years old. It has 2 small toddler beds and a twin size "granny bed".We also have an extremely comfortable sofa bed that has a high quality air mattress (no springs!).

The apartment features air conditioning, Sirius satellite radio, internet access, cable TV, and a piano. We are close to local restaurants and supermarkets, 1 block from Central park and 1 block to 2 different subway lines giving easy access to the rest of
Manhattan and all of NYC.

The Upper West Side is a primarily residential neighborhood, but it can serve as a great home base for visitors to New York City, and is certainly worth exploring. It provides an escape from the chaos of Midtown and other heavily touristed areas. It is a convenient location for exploring Central Park, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, and the theater district and the many subways and buses make it easy to explore other areas of the city.
It is a great neighborhood for shopping (especially at gourmet stores, like Zabar's and Fairway), and the brownstone lined blocks and luxury apartment buildings make the Upper West Side well worth strolling around.

Katherine is 42 years old currently is at home with her children and working towards a degree to become a certified healer. Stuart is 47 years old and a company Director at a software firm. For most vacations we will be traveling with our 14 year old son and twin girls, age 3 years old..

During the summer months the plants on our terrace will need to be watered daily.

Please note our home in not available for exchange for Thanksgiving 2012.

We are open to places within reasonable driving distances from New York City and for weekend exchanges.

We are also very interested in a large house/houses than can accommodate a large group of people for a family reunion. We are usually about 16 adults and 6 children. We can travel most anywhere but prefer places in the Northeast. We have just completed an exchange with our group and can provide references that will attest we leave your property in perfect condition.

We are usually flexible with dates but since we follow the NYC school schedule we would prefer dates that work with the school calender.

We would love to travel wherever an exchange takes us. Our exchange does not have to be a simultaneous one since we have a second home.

We would like to have one exchange per year for one week for a 5 bedroom house to have a reunion with our family from England.
We would like a pool or on water places for this exchange.

We are especially interesting in exploring the major wine regions of the world.

In addition to the Manhattan apartment we also have a peaceful 3 bedroom house in upstate New York in Windham. This is a wonderful year round destination in the Catskills preserve within 5 minutes of Windham ski mountain and 15 minutes from Hunter Mountain.
The Windham house could also be available for house swap and comfortably sleeps 6 people. This is a more remote place and in stark contrast to the hussle and bussle of Manahattan but shows you the full beauty of New York state. It has 2 fireplaces, dining room, washer/dryer, 2 bathrooms and lots and lots of quiet. It is surrounded by protected New York Stand land and has a stream running in the front garden.
It is wonderful for relaxing, hiking, biking, and exploring the beauty of the Catskills.

Update: The Windham house was affected by Hurricane Irene. It is still functionable but now the main living room is in repair as well as the garage.
